drawing and sketching
I’m often asked what’s the difference between drawing and sketching. Simply put, drawing is tighter and sketching is looser. One can be a final product when finished, while the other can serve as a reference tool for later work. I specialize in teaching drawing and sketching: pen and ink with watercolor, colored pencils, graphite pencils and so on. Below are examples of the studies we’ve done in my classes and workshops. Yes, I usually work on the projects before I teach them, so I can encounter some of the problems a student may experience.
